Tuesday Night was Luna's orchestra concert. She did awesome and I am proud of her for her dedication to her instrument. She's planning on taking it through Junior High, so I'm going to have to fold and buy her her own instrument (right now we still borrow sweet Aunt Reachel's). If anyone knows a good place for buying a cello, I'm all ears!
Wednesday night was Sunshine's "Joy School Graduation Party". It was so much fun to have all those little ones over to celebrate their progress this year! Joy School was a lot of work, but even more fun than I'd anticipated. I loved getting closer with all these great moms I am lucky to work with and couldn't resist having their families over for a little party (even if it is the busiest month of the year).
Thursday morning J Man informed me he needed to have a costume to be "Francisco Vasquez de Coronado" by 5:00 p.m. that evening. Say What? Say Who? Conquistawhat? So I did a little research and came up with this picture. Okay, we can probably make a conquistador hat from scratch right? I even have silver spray paint in the craft cupboard left over from Artemis. So cardstock, tape and spray paint later we had this. I was disappointed in the results, but have you ever tried to make a conquistador helmet from scratch? Not as easy as you might think. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a totally different approach: mold some newspaper against his head and then mold strips of duct tape to make the base. I thought of that later that night in my sleep. Next time I'll be more prepared!
As soon as he was done with the History Faire we headed over to Pack Meeting where my little cub scout graduated into a Boy Scout! He earned his Arrow of Light and we had a special evening with the whole family out to support him.
When we got home the kids decided they needed to enter the Honeywell Earth Day Poster contest, due date tomorrow morning! They'd been begging their dad to bring home the coloring pages for weeks, but despite his emails hounding the HR department, he wasn't able to get any. Luckily, there's an option for drawing your own poster from scratch, so that's what each of them did. I think they turned out better than any coloring sheet anyway! And they only stayed up until 11:00 p.m. to get them done--ha! They're keeping their fingers crossed for the $50.00 first prize!
Friday Night was the dance show. This was likely their best show ever! I loved the songs and the girls all sounded great. Awesome actions, too. So when is Jenee going to start a song and dance group for mom's is what I'd like to know?

My brother bought a cello online (new) and was very pleased with the price and quality. I can get more info for you if you want.
Thanks Becky! You are a wealth of information in endless areas!
You have been very, very busy! Congrats to Jacob on his Arrow of Light! I know how much work goes into that. The cello is my favoritest instrument in all the world. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until my sophomore year of high school. So, I started lessons then and joined the orchestra the next year and was the very last chair in the cello section, but I didn't care because I loved it so much. So, yay for your daughter discovering the cello much earlier! Those flowers are lovely. Wishing you much peace during those busy, crazy times.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Glad everyone is doing so good, and can't wait to see you guys next month!
Great report and pictures on all the activities. Glad everybody made their deadlines and all looked wonderful. We bought Korean made violins in the Canary Islands for the missionary violinists. They were really great instruments and not as expensive as I would have thought. So maybe there are some great Korean made cellos too. Way to go, Maddie, maybe you could give me some lessons.
Looks like there's never a dull moment at your house! Glad you were able to pull of Jake's costume, and I really like the hat.
