So The Baron walks up to me again the other day and says with concern in his voice: "Mom, there's a face on my tummy."
I am confused. A what?
"A face, Mom. See." He lifts his shirt up. Yep, there's a face. Right there emblazoned on my sons miniature rib cage.
"Son, how did this happen, ?" My tone matches his seriousness.
"I don't know, mom." He shurgs. "I just looked down and there was this face."
I hang my head. I am tired, so there is no laughter to stifle this time. (but I am laughing now as I write it.)
I instantly recognize the "mystery artists" signature. I go and get a recent picture he has drawn in an attempt to 'draw' the truth out of him. "Son, that face on your tummy looks a lot like the one you drew for me the other day, don't you think?"
He has no immediate answer for this. "No, mom. That picture was of you. You're beautiful. I'm a good artist. It looks just like you."
He's right. I love this picture. It looks just like me.
(does the fact that I'm photographing these incidents just encourage the boy or what?)

Love it.
I think it is pretty impressive he can draw so well on his own belly. You'd think it would be upside down or something.
Too funny. We are all laughing over here. Emily thinks he has great artistic talent!
we're glad you're back! I was getting worried, but chalked it up to the pregnancy factor. Sam is too funny and we love that Sophie is learning to read the scriptures young. I love that girl. And her mom.
Am I the only one to think that you are way more beautiful in person than in the 2D rendition of you;)? Seriously you are one of the most beautiful inside and out people in the world. I found your blog through your husband's. I am glad. My sister Brandi, used to tell stories of your sweetness in New Jersey. Now, I get to read about a little of it.
By the way your posts are hilarious.
I'm with Courtney. It takes some serious focus to draw your face on your own stomach. Someday I'm sure that kind of focus will be put to less-mischevious use.
Love Sam's self confidence and love his art work.
