I Never Said it Would be Easy. . .

I was tired today.
Extra sleepy.
No real reason.
(Maybe it's the heat?)

So chasing Sunshine all over Walmart (why did I ever let The Baron talk me into one of those huge cart's that you're children are supposed to "sit" in the front in. You know the ones that are like pushing a semi truck through the aisles. . .and they don't have a place to strap in a baby, by the way). She lasted for about half the trip before she kept slipping out and running all over the store.

This seemed to make me extra sleepy. She stole my energy or something. She would escape and tear down the aisle and I would go after her in ssssssllllooooooooowwwww mmoooottttioooon. I found a nice spot underneath the women's pajama's rack and laid down to take a nice nap. No one will notice, right?

Of course, I thought better of this and made it home without giving into the droopy eyelids.

When the big kids got home from school, I was still feeling it. Foggy, unmotivated.

We started in on our annual "clean out your school box and save your favorite/best work".

That's when I discovered this.

It was done sometime this year by The Professor.
I love the details.
Daddy mowing the lawn in front.

StarGirl digging up dinosaur bones (surely our home sits on exotic dinosaur bones).
The Baron jumping on the tramp.
The Professor mowing the lawn in back.

And a poem inside. . .

It reminded me that my sleepiness is all worth it.

I'm suddenly not so tired anymore.

(okay, not really. I'm still tired! But wouldn't that have made the best ending if I had felt a sudden surge in my energy levels? I'm gonna visualize this
and am sure my energy will kick in soon!)

What a cute art project! Thanks for keeping Emily for me--she said she and Sam caught Sophie at the store. Now I know she wasn't kidding. I hope Emily was more of a help than a hindrance there. Hope you get lots of sleep soon.

Call me next time and I'll let you get a nap in. We would gladly have cute sophie over for a play date!

Emily is always helpful! She is an angel child and we love having her over.

Wal-mart plus toddler in tow...say no more. The two combined together are exhausting. I love that poem by Jacob. Made me teary-eyed. It is SO worth it all.

I can relate to that feeling. You just want to rest your eyes for a minute, but then your whole body aches for sleep....but you can't. I had a day like that yesterday too! I loved that drawing.

is Richard wearing big ear phones and a face mask in the pic while mowing the lawn, then it would be funny, true and funny.

Sounds like you need to get some more of that Pepsi MAX that I bought at Fry's because I couldn't find any other Pepsi in a bottle for our trip to Disneyland and then you wouldn't be able to go to sleep even if you had the opportunity!

Is this my mother recommending a caffeinated beverage to me! Ha! Believe me I've thought about it, but I'd end up like O'pee totally hooked and my kidneys would be shot.
