Anyway, this same principle applies to my love of gardening. Finding the little fruits when they first come out is so exciting! They're so little, but they're there, growing and developing and on their way to giving you some yumminess.
This season we're growing watermelon in our garden for the first time. The plants have become enormous willowy vine arms taking over the entire plot and just the other day I discovered our first baby watermelon fruit. It's the size of a raisin and it's SO CUTE! It has all the miniature striations of the grown up watermelon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep this garden growing and thriving all the way to edible "fruition."
I took out all the kids the other evening to show them our adorable baby watermelons and we all oohed and ahhed at miniature fruit's captivating charms.
In other news, my kids are growing too! I don't do much scrapbooking (and the kind I do do is sill old school with real paper. . .though I do think I finally tracked down a copy of photoshop for Mac at a reasonable price. . .so maybe soon I'll be digi in it up) In the mean time, here's a pic of the page I had to do for The Barons's preschool teacher's memory book. I totally enjoyed this little project.

The baby watermelon is so cute! Great job on your scrapbook page--much better than what I did, but then I really wasn't in the mood when I did mine...
I'm all about things that are little. Brian finds it quite commical, but I can't help myself. And of course I love your mini watermelon.
I've never seen such a tiny watermelon. Is it a seeded or seedless. I have a theory that all these seedless varietys have taken the flavor out of watermelon. I would like a good old fashioned seeded watermelon, but I don't think you can buy them anywhere.
Love the mini watermelon. That'll be fun for the kids to watch grow.
I love your last post too. Sometimes we need a psychological boost even if it doesn't actually give us any more physical energy
