Traditional Easter

We traditionally Love Easter. This year was no exception!

Tradition # 1: The Easter bunny did hop by our home before church--Handsome has carried on the "hide the baskets outdoors" theme he grew up with. The baskets were again a delightful hit full of delectable treats for the kids (spiritual enlightenment included, along with a "fun" gift--but all from Deseret book). I love the boundaries a basket creates! This way I don't go too overboard, and we do always get everything but the candy at Deseret Book in order to put the emphasis on something religious. They sell some fun stuff there too so we try to balance the baskets out. I even decided that only Little Miss Sunshine was getting a stuffed animal this year since we've got far too many of those in our home. . .but she was napping during basket time so she missed the photo op.

Tradition # 2:

The Posed Family

The Real Family
Tradition # 3 (okay this doesn't count as a tradition at all since its the first year I taught RS on Easter, but hey, I really like this quote!). Nourishment for the spirit: Quotation from lesson: "Every thought, word and deed has an effect on the human body; all these leave their marks. The Great Judge will then read the record of the book of their lives; the account of their obedience or disobedience will be written in their bodies." (Bruce R. McConkie)

Tradition # 4 Nourishment for the Body--Easter Dinner at our home! Delicious and good for you. How did we get blessed with so many fine cooks in one family? I have no good pictures of this portion of our Easter. Berlin is a most scrumptious substitution!

Many thank yous on the wardrobe compliment. The outfits this year did not come easily (as in we went to many stores to get it together). For some reason I had my heart set on blue and wouldn't budge despite all the designers boycotting most blues this Easter! (i.e. not easy to find. Green = everywhere!) Girls dresses--online JCPenney's. Boys Ties--Children's place. Sam's sweater--Gymboree. Boys new pants--Children's place online (online sizes). Sophie's dress--Walmart! My top was from Forever 21 and the skirt I got last season at TJ Maxx.
Thankfully, Rich is in charge of his own wardrobe!

Love the family pics. I did not realize I was supposed to coordinate the entire family including husbands until I was reading blogs and saw your pics, Nancy's pics, Stephanie's pics. I love the basket in the tree.

Your Easter Sunday pictures look great. We should have taken a few here as we had a nice time and a great dinner too. We even had quite nice weather, not as warm as yours though. But nobody got out their camera. Wish I could have been there for your RS lesson.

I love that you do your "real" family photos. I need to adopt that tradition.
You are such a great mom. I'm impressed with all the Easter goings-ons.

I love the coordination. I know how much energy that takes for a mom. That is a goal for next year. I just didn't get it together for Easter this year..I want to say it is because it came early, but I knew it was coming.
