After scouring the internet (for what feels like days, but really it was only 2 hours total) I have come to a wallpaper decision.
Sort of.
I have narrowed it down to 2 different wallpapers and I just can't decide. My decision making skills are tangled up in indecisive knots. Really, the best way for me to make a decision is to talk it over with people and assess how I react to their imput. Do I agree or do I fight you on it? The only person home right now is Mr. Bingley, and though he has excellent taste, he can't talk.
My other main decision making helper, Mr. Handsome, wants little to do with this makeover since makeovers cost money.
Can you see that I need you?
Here are my two top choices:
I want to wallpaper the front half of my kids hall bathroom. It is not an area with a shower or toliet, just two double sinks. But I do worry about messiness, since--hello--my kids tend to be that. My other concerns are price. One of these rolls is $60 a roll, the other is $80 (that's not cheap folks, but if you've noticed they make zero decent wallpapers that are cheap.) I need 2 rolls. That is I think I need two rolls, but maybe three. Since these pictures are lousy here are the links: Roll One. Roll Two. This will show you the price, but I advise you to pay no attention. The second rolls is flocked.
I am not going to tell you which wallpaper is which price, I just want a gut reaction. Price Schmice.
Also, you should know, that my vision is to have yellow walls with navy blue cabinetry trimed with white knobs and white accents around the room. Maybe a plant since there's a skylight in there. White towels. That is all folks.
Now, advise me please.
(should I mention here that I was traumatized by the story "The Yellow Wallpaper"
when dealing with postpartum depression 8 years ago?
It haunted me.
Likely I should not mention that.)

Becky, My mom has a roll of wallpaper sitting at her house that is very much like #2 (only the yellow and white are reversed). My brother left it there and she doesn't know what to do with it. Maybe looking at that in person *live* in your bathroom will help you to decide? Just a thought, B.
I pick #1. But have you considered a stencil instead? I had a custom one made through lightsforever on etsy (he sells it now - it's his damask trellis). I had mine made with 4 patterns on it so it's extra large and won't take as much time to paint (whenever I actually get around to it)
i really like #1! i'm not much of a damask person so that's my bias. but both are really nice and would look great!
(i think we need to hear the yellow wallpaper story.)
My gut reaction is I like the second better, but I think the first goes better with your design vision.
The 2nd
I think your home is conducive to option 1: graphic and slightly modern. I like them both though and neither would be a mistake.
Reachel,
Graphic and slightly modern is exactly what I am hoping for. I though the 2nd one into the mix since it'd be saving me some cash, but I'm gonna go with the first one. If you're going to go to the trouble to hang wall paper, I say you'd better love it and Amy Butler is my design idol!
Option 1.
So damask wall paper is back in? It was very popular years ago. I like the design of the damask but I don't recommend the damask itself. With such a small area to do, I like the idea of a stencil like one of your other commenters. I tried a little stencilling years ago and it was a lot of fun. Are you going to hang the wall paper yourself? Maybe you should watch the old I Love Lucy episode on hanging wall paper.
wish I'd been checking blogs earlier, sorry I haven't seen this yet. I have an idea for you that is soooo much cheaper, and maybe even easier. I've seen lots of people on the internet using stencils, yes stencils I know you're picturing your old room and the flower border. BUT stick with me here, if you painted the wall blue and got a some grey paint and a good stencil (check online) you could give yourself the same look for much cheaper. Can you tell which one I like better? I'll try to search and find you some examples.
