So one of our favorite creative Halloween endeavors is the jackolanterns. We carved them out in the nick of time (the afternoon of the 31st). I love watching my kids and what they come up with! It gets me so excited to see them create! A cyclops! An owl! A spooky face! A large gapping mouth carved from the top of the pumpkin then placed on its side. . . I wouldn't have thought of these and love a little glimpse into my children's heads and what's going on in there. I had seen some wonderful pictures done by my friend years ago of her kids looking into their glowing pumpkin orbs and wanted to try for that this year. Sadly, Mr. Bingly Bones had already fallen asleep, so I couldn't sneak into his room and get the tripod out of the closet there. But the blur just adds to they mystery, right?
And we got to celebrate Little Sunshine's Boo-thday, too.
She's one of my favorite creative endeavors ever :)

Count me in the "love" camp, more make-believe than macabre. And might I say impressive pumpkin carvings.
love the pumpkins, we never got around to ours, I keep telling the kids that way they'll last through Thanksgiving, but really we just got busy.
OOOo, all very lovely. I think the cyclops is my favorite.
I admit to being a hater, but it is mostly because of the effort all of the creativity takes. Not to mention the effort to keep everybody healthy. I loved the people who handed out festive straws, glow sticks, pencils and stickers, THAT is creative.
Love your candle light photos and the jackolanterns. I always enjoyed Halloween, but I really started loving it back when I began painting so many decorations, I especially liked the witches for some reason!
