Courtney

No review of our CA vacation would be complete without a HUGE shout out to Courtney.  In fact, I've been composing this little blog post about her in my head for a full week.  See, she did a post that mentioned our visit here and I was so darn touched by it that it gave me the happy tears.  Yep, I'm not exaggerating.  She really carried me down memory lane on that one and made me feel happy and blessed to have such a friend as her.  So I've been wanting to recipricate, you know, make a really fabulous post about all our fun times together.  Talk about inside jokes like "You say its your birthday" or "Guess which shades of lipstick I am wearing right now," "Or hi, nice to meet you, I'm your new Visiting Teacher--How do you like my wig?"   Make a post that really sings--sings as loud and as high as we used to when we jumped on the tramp in the back yard or splashed in the pool all summer long.  So I've been writing and composing this in my head, over and over, I re-write and discard, re-write and discard.

I come up with blog titles like "Welcome to the Hotel Courtnifornia" or " Courtney Comforts".
I mean, come on!
Really?
Those titles are so not doing her justice!

So I'll just say that visiting Courtney was a huge highlight of our trip!  She baked us homemade M&M cookies, took us to see the glittery beaches of her old neighborhood by the Hotel Del (posh place to take the kids to the rest room, no?!), fed us a pizza as big as my 3 year old child,  showed me how easy it is to shoot an DSLR in manual and made me laugh (and even cry) at some of her great stories and memories.  (Also, Jeffrey was looking out for my kids safety and installed a latch on the backdoor so no kids would wake up at 6 a.m. and fall in the pool).  See how nice they are?

Indulge me on a lot of pictures.  We've got quite a few kids between us!  Do you think I should change get rid of my shabby blog wall paper in order to better accommodate all these pics?  I really don't like that they're not 3 across.  Share your opinion, please!  I like lots of pics, its for posterity!!

(and these shots were all before my camera lesson. . .except for this last one!
Now I will use 800 ISO whenever I'm in a really dark room and you'll never even know!)

We loved having you. I bought an envelope last night to send Sophie's shoes back. Sorry it's taking me so long.

great pics, now I have to go visit Court so she can blog about how much she loves me and I love her and we can eat big pizza together. Sounds fun.

Yes, Nancy, you must go visit the Hotel Courtneyfornia. First rate accommodations and pizza as big your first born son! Good times and lots of laughter.

And Courtney, thanks for sending the shoes! We left all her shoes there and the munchkins gone barefoot except for Sunday shoes :) We had so much fun with you we're planning our next trip back!
