It's a New Year, And a Happy One, too

Just listened to James E Foust's familiar voice on BYU broadcasting. I miss that guy. Likely, you do too. But you can listen to him too here or read, if you prefer to imagine his voice. Here's the stand out quote for me:

I have found that in accomplishing just about anything, the most difficult part is getting started. A wise man has said, “He has half the deed done, who has made a beginning.”1
I am grateful for all new beginnings. Every hour can be a new beginning. Every day can be a new beginning. Every month can be a new beginning. Every year can be a new beginning. Indeed, every moment can be an opportunity to improve.
Dale Carnegie gave us this good advice: “Don’t be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.”
So here's to new beginnings and giving your best to the small stuff: (for me, now, that means: wiping noses, kissing boo-boos, sweeping up the floor after Sunday hair cuts, making a meal or two, or three, tucking in the little ones (one, two, three, four, five, six) with a hug and a kiss and remembering to say our prayers. Oh, and remembering to feed the dogs, too. I can do this, right?)

Happy New Year!
Pictures from our annual new year party will be forthcoming.

Happy new year to you! What beautiful pictures of your Christmas holidays. Looks like lots of great memories (sorry about the salmonella...ugh!). That snow is making me totally jealous (although that sounds very, very brrr cold to this Texan woman...I've found myself complaining about the 30 degree weather we've been experiencing some of recently). I do like the idea of new beginnings...lots of things I'd like to re-prioritize in 2010. Happy holidays to you (still wondering if I'm going to get out family letters this year...maybe Valentine's).
