This year's New Year's Eve theme, french beatniks.
The mood: think cool, baby, like cool-cat-radioactive. The threads: Black, white, red, stripes.
On the menu: homemade baguettes, croissants, assorted cheese and a hot chocolate bar. To make the hot chocolate bar, Reachel supplied piping hot milk with several offerings of chocolate on a stick encrusted with yummies (red hots, caramel, peppermints, etc.) You pick your flavor and stir away. Our darling hostess even supplied monogrammed mugs for each guest that, yes, we got to take home with us.

For your entertainment: you said it, baby, team poetry writing, beatnik style. We drew "loaded" words from a hat and had to write a poem including that word (some of my team's words were
infinite, astute, and hemaphrodite). Dramatic readings were interspersed with bongo beatin', moody interprative dancin, saxaphone swayin, cello strummin, enigmatic stares. Candles were frequently blown out for emphasis.

wow, what a fun themed party. I'm loving the stripes and hats, but tell me who is making homemade baguettes? I need to know!!
Though there are several people at the party who could have made these baguettes, they happened to have been fashioned by Jared, who is culinary school trained. They were divine.
I especially dug the hats and the jewelry. And I was wondering what particular role Richard was preparing for, now I know.
Man, why don't I get to go to the hip parties on New Years? That's it, I'm throwing my own fun New Year's eve party next year, I'm done with crappy New Years, but so happy for you guys, looks like a ton of fun.
