Do you wanna know?
(why does my brain remember old commercials so easily
but not where my children are supposed to be at what time?)
So I realize I haven't posted in a while. I looked back at some old posts to get my writing juices flowing and here's the resulting follow ups. I'll start at the most recent and dig back to follow up in some summer postings:

So I realize I haven't posted in a while. I looked back at some old posts to get my writing juices flowing and here's the resulting follow ups. I'll start at the most recent and dig back to follow up in some summer postings:
- My 12 year olds are loving Young Womens. In the past, I have typically had to pick their brains to find out about their primary lessons. But not in Young Womens! They must really step up the excitement there! One of my daughters (who wishes to remain anonymous—12 year olds!) sought me out: “MOM! Our lesson this week was about drugs AND how bad they are for you AND Sister P. brought a live scorpion in a jar to represent bad things(AND I shoke that thing up and up--I really took out my aggressions on that thing) Sister P. said, "Does anyone want to put their hand in the jar and let it sting you?" (My daughter's eyes are wide) AND then she showed us how Satan makes bad things look good AND she passed around another scorpion stuck in a lollipop, and said "ya wanna lick?" AND. . .” Yup. She had lots to say about Young Womens.
- Speaking of scorpions, we have only found one since that dreadful deluge. Richard caught him with the broom when sweeping up the dinner time crumbs. The infestation is apparently related to the heat and my neighbors say they’ve had high numbers, too. Who knew the strange effects of global warming would be increased scorpions?
- My commando crawler graduated to knee style this weekend. His knees are already looking red and raw. Baby knee pads anyone? Its still too hot for long pants around here.
- Our month of sparatarianism was a great success. I highly recommend experimenting with it and seeing what meatless recipes you come up with. Over here we came up with a tofu based alfredo sauce that was actually quite yummy. Our latest diet experiment? The top 4 kids are going candy free for one year! I have been very proud of their resolve. (Thanks for the inspiration, my Godfrey Girls :)
- And now, drum roll please. . .My MRI says my brain looks normal. Pheew. For this I breathe a huge sigh of relief, but I still have no explanation for my consistent tingly in hands, feet, legs, arms (and often back), but mom says I need to take a healthy dose of vitamin B12 to regenerate some nerve growth. I am trying to remember to pick some up next time I walk into the health food store. Any insights into the vauge "peripheral neuropathy?" It rears its ugly head mostly at bedtime.

How much do the kids get when they complete the candy-free year? Or is it without compensation? I have been quite amazed at the dedication our kids have given this challenge.
Good to hear your MRI was negative for any problems. Somewhat frustrating as well, I bet. Maybe your mom knows what she's talking about.
Ooh, I have to teach that same lesson next week. Too bad I don't have any scorpions...yeah, not really. Good luck with the B12 treatments!
YW lessons are great-even I miss them. Hopefully the boys get just as good ones, but I am not so sure since the reports over here have not been as exciting (or detailed).
Global warming = more scorpions? I will be recycling a lot more now! That's compelling enough for me.
Looks like you had so much fun with your family in town. The chairs look fantastic. So relieved about the MRI's results. Any thoughts on the possibility of essential fatty acid supplements too? Just an idea. Hope you have a wonderful Halloween season. The Beehive age is absolutely magical. I taught the Beehives last year and absolutely loved it.
Beck, glad the MRI is normal, sometimes I think I should go get one as I often think I have a tumor of some sort, is that normal? And glad we didn't see any scorpions at your house, believe me, I was looking!
Your mother also said some fish oil or flax seed oil would probably be a good idea. YOu can just get the Costco brands, and also you can get the under the tongue B12 there. Just have to remember to get it and then take it all faithfully every day.
We get 100 dollars, and 4 free days, and we JUST found another scorpian! My rooms sooo cute & i ♥ beehives!!
