Sister Shout Out, Send Off, and Bonus Feature

This is my lovely sister, Angela. She is aptly named as her disposition is quite angelic, one of perfect mildness. If she were a flavor at a gelato shop--which she would love to be, seeing as she has a fondness for real Italian gelatos--she just might be 'sweet cream.' And when she's in the mood to add a little zing to her surely sweet ways, she'd add some tangy berries on top.
Sweet Cream Angela is making a little one of her own, of the darling and dainty variety . She just had a party to honor her forthcoming wee one and I could not attend. No, I could not attend because all my family has moved to Utah and left me, alone in the deserts of sonora. But their party was still fabulous. It was at my fabulous sister in law Emily's house, so of course it was fabulous. Emily is also due very shortly with a nephew of the darling and daring variety. I wish I could have been there.
I was intending to get my gift together and sent in the mail arriving in time for openings at the honorary gala, and this would have happened had I just purchased and shipped an offering. It would have happened. Instead, I determined this baby's bounty needed to be hand made. Angel Angela is talented with her hands (her mother's daughter) and purchased would just not do this time. And so I tried, and tried and tried to get this gift going, but I kept running into, er--snags (yes, pun intended).

But finally, after many trials, it is finished! I packed my humble gift and sent it off to Utah as of yesterday.

And since Emily is working hard at throwing baby showers all while incubating her own baby I threw my efforts into making a handsome gift for her soon to be born son. It turned out most adorable and I look forward to seeing the little tyke in his handmade gift at Christmas time ;) Would you like to see these sweet gifts? I would show you how they turned out, but that would be rude and selfish of me seeing as how Angela & Emily have yet to receive them. (But don't expect the post man to be knocking on your doors soon, as I got to USPS with only my angel mother's address in my head, so both gifts will be going to Lindon and we hope Pam will be kind and deliver them to you).

As a bonus feature and to honor of all things hand made I'll show you a project I worked on over the summer, which took only 1,000 hours longer than I'd anticipated. It's a collection of Harry Potter Puppet Pals that we made for a family reunion skit. The kids saw this video on youtube and we recreated it. It may have taken a long time to make, but it made me realize how satisfying sewing can be! I loved every stitch of this laborious time consuming project, so if you need some Harry Potter Puppets, give me a call and you can use ours.

Oh, I'm very excited! I think a homemade gift from Becky is just what I need to lift my baby-is-breech spirits. And is that confirmation that you will be here at Christmastime! Extra exciting! Thank you, my lovely.

We loved the Harry Potter skit, my kids still sing those songs all the time, and I was quite impressed with your puppetry making skills. I do hope that you took pictures of the cute baby gifts so that you can eventually post them!

Also -- no joke -- the Harry puppet performance was one of the highlights of my summer.

By the way very cute pic of miss Ang, why didn't I get braces? Darn Dr. Peterson and his "good enough" theories on teeth!

Oh, Becky, I will have to show these puppets to my boys when they're back. They will die! The HP puppet pals is one of their very favorite things to sing. I can't tell you how many times a week I hear one of my kids say, "what is that mysterious ticking noise?" (I guess something Snape says in one of the skits). Those puppets turned out awesome. How cool to make a homemade gift for your sister! So sad you couldn't join your sisters for the celebration.

My boys say, "Awesome!".

Anne Marie,

The "what is that mysterious ticking noise?" is the best line in the whole skit! We are constantly quoting that one around here. . .that and "it's Ronaldo now!" Ha! Glad the boys thought they were cool :)

We all loved your Harry Potter puppets and skit. The puppets themselves were great and your children's production was delightful. The girls have already opened you gifts so you can now post them. They are darling.
