Full Size Cakes, RIP

The Cake Walk at the Neighborhood Halloween carnival is always our favorite. This year, I never saw the sign up sheet, but I wasn’t gonna let that stop me from contributing. In fact, I was gonna bring 4 cakes, twice as many as last year. The more cakes you bring, the more children get to take a cake home.

I have 5 kids.

I NEED there to be a lot of cakes!

Made no plans as to what my contribution would look like ahead of time. Just pulled out all the Halloween themed candy & black food coloring (a Halloween staple at our house). Then let the ghoulish muses go to work.

(note how I only own 2 round pans and had to use 2 heart shaped to cook them all at once. Why not blend your holidays here?)

Turns out, those ladies in charge of the calk walk table felt the same way. . . we need lots and lots and lots of cakes, so each and every little vampire or witch can take one home. Cupcakes. That’s what we need. Cupcakes only.

I just didn’t get the memo.

Full Size Cakes, Rest In Peace.

(Next year, I may just resurrect you. Who needs memos anyway?)

And here’s some Carnival Craziness photos for you, mom. Fun time had by all !

Your cakes look great! Such creativity! I am sure some little ghouls were happy to have something bigger than just a cupcake!
