Luna's starting 5th grade. She got the teacher she was hoping for. She picked out this sunny yellow shirt to match her disposition and to set the tone for a happy new school year. I can't believe my daughter is a fifth grader. I remember fifth grade. . .I thought I was really close to being a grown up.
StarGirl, also in 5th grade. She got the class room with the most friends in it. Her sparkling rhinestone top goes well with the vivacious personality. She is excited to be in fifth grade, (at the end of it she'll be able to say she's "Smarter than a Fifth Grader").
The Professor is entering 4th grade with a teacher we are happily familiar with from last year. He picked out a lot of orange for his back to school t-shirts. We're excited for him to be in ELP this year with his sisters and the brand new, highly regarded teacher.
My little Baron, not so little any more as a full day Kindergartener. Since I am playing fashion show announcer, I will mention that his t-shirt says something about being a "speed demon" and running really fast. This fits his personality perfectly. He has repeatedly told me over the past four days "I got to go to recess. It was awesome!
and "Today I went to P.E. It was awesome!" This kid likes to move.
I have to add that since The Baron has been gone all day for four days, I admittedly miss him. I even found myself praying for him during the week that he'd do well in class, remember his manners and to go use the bathroom as needed (not that he's got a problem with this, this is just how a mom thinks about her 5 year olds).
And here's a fun idea that my girlfriend, Scripture Mom, did for the neighborhood. If you haven't yet started school and want to imbue your street with that sweet feeling of community you could do it, too: A back to school breakfast for the neighborhood kids and moms on your drive way. A simple buffet table with easy, assorted breakfast foods complete with o.j. and milk. She even sent out adorable invites in tiny little brown paper bags that said "Back 2 School." It made our morning! So extra thanks, Scripture Mom!

very cute, but when you say top four it sounds like you like them the best like they are your top four choices or something, don't you think they are your first four, or oldest four?
What great pictures. You have absolutely beautiful kids.
We were sure glad to see you come to the breakfast. Actually the paper bags were from the Enrichment Committee for Tuesday night's activity--but I thought they were cute too!
Nancy, as you know we are only fair and equitable in this family and so top four only refers to age and not likeabilit! (You know I like Sophie!) "Top" has one syllable, so its easier to say than "oldest". I've been saying it for a long time, so I think its here to stay.
What a great top four. Hope all is going well for them in this new school year. Hope too their mother is able to enjoy a little peace and quiet.
