I am expecting!
My SIXTH child!
My SIXTH child!
For a girl who grew up as the oldest of 6 children and always thought she wanted to have six kids of her own someday, this is a bit of a dream come true.
(How nice that I married a man from a family of 8 and so to him,
six is on the smallish side!)

And there's more. . .I had my first ultra sound today. My doctor thought I was measuring high (for a mother of twins this sends off a mental alarm). He wanted to see how far along I was and count the little fetuses (is that feti?) moving around in there. The answer?
ONE
(phew! The dream was always six; not seven. Six is at the end of doable. Seven is for Wonder Womans and Super Girls; I praise and honor those mothers!)

And though it's still a tad early for gender identification, (I am 16 weeks) our little 8 inch squirt was finally cooperative and we got a peek. IT'S a BOY!! And, boy, am I excited folks! This evens things out, three girls, three boys. For a girl who grew up on the Brady Bunch, it couldn't get any better.
And here's the fun part for this mama. I was thinking it was a boy. Because even though Mr. Handsome and I were feeling like we have our hands full (and let's face it, we do) and maybe we'd have to post pone the "Six" dream (like postpone it until the next life kind of postponement), I kept thinking there was this boy supposed to come to our family. No dreams or visionary stuff like that, but on more than one occasion I thought I was missing a boy. This happened repeatedly when I would go to missionary home comings for boys that were the youngest child of large families and see them hug their mothers.

So, Little Guy, we're darn excited to meet you, Son.
(and if by chance you come out a girl and that ultra sound tech was wrong, we still love you!)

how fun! can't wait to meet him at christmas.
Woohooo!!!! Congrats! I am so happy for you guys. What great news! What a relief to find out it was only one:) It's one lucky boy who's coming to join you guys.
By the way, you are living Jared's dream....perfect balance of boys and girls. He had told me many years ago that he wanted to keep having kids until we had 2 boys and 2 girls or 4 boys and 4 girls (the plan of 8 kids was long before we had even one). Well, considering we now have four boys and no girls, I think we can officially say that this plan of his is definitely not happening:)
We are so excited for you and Rich! You are already a super mom, so even if it was twins again you would have handled it great. But one at a time is good too!
CONGRATS you guys! This little baby is so lucky to join your sweet family! He couldn't be more loved!!
(BTW, our little "surprise" boy is the best unplanned thing that has ever happened to us, so I know that yours is going to be the best too!!)
So excited to meet him!!
That is so exciting. Aren't boys awesome! ;) Congratulations!
Although I am a bit disappointed that it isn't twins, we're happy to congratulate you on the advent of a new baby boy in your great family!
I think it's funny that mom of all people is disappointed it's not twins! Ha! But we are excited for your little guy even if you do steal my boy's name. I just hope he's as cute as Sophie, probably why it's not a girl, cause how would you top Soph?
Wow! Congratulations!
Congratulations Becky and Richard! You are superwoman in my book.
Becky is, I mean.
Congratulations!! Yea for just one! And how fun to have 3 and 3. Too perfect.
Wow! Congrats, you are a supermom now. Anything over 4 qualifies that.....because I have four. How exciting for your family.
I also loved Abigail. I felt as I read her correspondence ...that I would love to meet her one day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that happens.
Becky I am so excited for you. Congrats on a dream come true. You are an awsome mom.
