but his heart is still as sweet and good
as when he was my little pre-school buddy.
Family is what's near and dear to this kids heart.
So we had some special Mom time where I jumped with him on the trampoline (thank you weather for providing some unexpected cool weather on the 13th)
We then ate Borrow's pizza and opened presents
(he was delighted with legos, lincoln logs and a robotic reptile-robot. . .
do we see engineering in his future?)

Then to lengthen out the celebrating we went to Makutu's Island on Wednesday evening (a great time to go by the way. We virtually had the whole place to ourselves.)
Then we hit the Rainforest Cafe on the way home. The kids loved it! (The parents, however can unfortunately NOT recommend it, due to overpriced mediocre food and tragically slow service). Nevertheless, we will focus on the good and say that it was indeed some intense jungle ambiance and a fun evening!
Happy Birthday, Son!
You're growing into a great young man and I am so happy to have you in our family.

What a fun family birthday! Hard to believe he is already 9.
That's how I picture Jake still, the little boy I lived with in Lindon. He's getting so big! Looks like lots of fun birthday events! Happy Birthday Jake!
I agree with Nancy, I think he's still a little boy. But then I come to visit and see him all grown up. Looks like you had a great party. What is the story on this island in the middle of the desert where you went to celebrate?
