DISNEYLAND WAS AMAZING!!!
I can't say enough about how great it was. It was so nice to have a small little group and to focus on what the girls were most interested in doing. Since brevity is never my specialty, here's list of memorable events:
pretending to be princesses while spying on the little ones at Princess Faire--where's Miss Sunshine when you need her?Getting to go on Tower of Terror with my mom
the amazing, amazing trees, flowers and foliage in each different "land" and how they added to that theme
walking past Captain Jack Sparrow (mom swore it was the real Johnny Depp)
feeding ducks at the best spot for dinner by the "river" near twilight
StarGirl driving me in a car on Autotopia (I pressed the gas for her the whole time)
a pirate update to Tom Sawyer's Island
The Sorcerer's workshop
Pirates of the Carribean 4 times
Fantasmic
and Alladin.
Even though we've been to Disneyland several times, theres always some little new gem we discover. This year it was Talking With Crush, Hot Chocolate on Main Street and my favorite, the California Grand Hotel attached to California Adventure.
We went to Talking With Crush twice and he picked StarGirls to talk to BOTH TIMES! In the morning he wanted to talk to StarGirl's mom. . .that's me. . .so through the magic of Disney I have had a real conversation with a live animated character. "So, how many little ones do you have, Becky?" "Five," I said. Crush replied, "DUDE. . .You're just getting STARTED!!" His response was refreshingly different than most people's! Apparently Crush has 65 little ones (he named them all!) and has been married to his girl Shelly (from Hawaii) for 130 years (me only 13) but it feels like the it's still first 75 because they're so in love. And what has he learned about women in 130 years of marriage? NOTHING, dude!" Cha, Crush was way cute and very funny.
When it was cold the second night there but we weren't quite ready to call it a night we left California adventure at 10:00 p.m. to go back to Main Street for Hot Cocoa. The shopping on Main Street is so fun so we relaxed there a bit before going one last time on Pirates of the Carribean (quick! Everyone's still watching Fantastmic so there's no line).
And I totally fell in love with the California Grand Hotel. After the girls took me on California Screaming (Whooaaaa, that was not a fun ride for me people. I was literally trying to hide the tears of pain and waves of nausea after I got off that one. I didn't want the girls to think I was a total dud mom! And I'd even taken 3 tylenol's in line before I got on to prevent my old car accident head aches from coming on. Didn't work.) Anyway, after that they said I'd been such a good sport that I got to pick anything I wanted for us to do next. I said, "Do you see this beautiful hotel right here? I really want to go see its lobby. That will be even more fun than California Screamin for your mom" They were surprised but joined us on our walk to explore the hotel and when we entered the Lobby I thought it was so beautiful my jaw dropped open! I guess I wasn't expecting such a gorgeous high ceiling. So I'm dreamin and scheming of how I can stay there on a "Date Trip" with Handsome sans children. Would I really go to Disneyland and leave my kids at home? I'll consider it. This pic turned out kinda dark and grainy, but I'll show it anyway.
And did I mention that the whole reason we went was for the girls to perform over there? It was a blast! They did great and it was a nice to take a break from walking in the afternoon.
So it was GREAT! I highly recommend using Ride Max to get your day off to a good start. We followed the optimzation softwares plan for the first 3 hours of the day and then worked out our own in the afternoons, but still never stood in line for more than 15 minutes. . .(except to Find Nemo!) Thanks for joining us mom!

Very cool your blog =]
Looks like you had a supercalafragalisticexpialidocious time! So much fun!
Looks like so much fun. It sounds great to have some time to just focus on your older girls. I am so impressed that you did so much. Sounds like you definitely made the most of your time.
Wow! That looks like an amazing trip! Becky, you are a fun Mom. I am learning many lessons from you.
How fun! I can tell you all had a blast. I don't know about Ride Max. What exactly is it?
Ride Max is an efficiency (think time optimization) software that analyzes ride usage data and then customizes you a ride itinerary to put you on the rides you want at the least busy time of day. It worked great and still gave us hours of free time! Added bonus: nobody argued with the schedule!
Sounds like a fun trip. This ride optimization software is very intriguing - is it safe to assume this is a Richard find?
YOU ARE SERIOUSLY KILLING ME RIGHT NOW.
I can't BELIEVE that we couldn't go with you after all the excitement was building...
And now I see these pictures and positively ACHE for Disneyland. Can you believe that I am an adult??
So glad that your mom got to go with you...so sad that we didn't. Your trip looks like it was magical...just how Walt would have wanted it!!

Mom, why would I ever think you would be a dud? I can understand how you (impossibally) don't enjoy that ride! :o
Courtney--
yes, it goes without saying that Ride Max was my efficiency obsessed husband's idea.
Onehm,
We soooo missed you!! Could we possibly fit in our date trip before your passes expire?? Seriously, the day I get home from disneyland I start planning my next trip! Love it.
Beck! Looks like so much fun. Takes me back to the days when I was performing in Disneyland. I'm sad I couldn't go, and I'm serious when I say we should do it for the next family reunion (you know, the one after Canada, which I'm also excited for).
So glad you had such a great trip! Looks like so much fun! So I guess I need to check Toms for ring worm? Poor little sophie! I don't even know what to check for, I'll be visiting Web MD just to be safe. Good luck with that!
You make me want to take a trip to Disneyland with my girls. Oh, and we love Ride Max. Isn't is amazing how it actually works? Too fun!
Looks like you guys had a great time, I am so glad you could go! And, I LOVE the picture of you and the girls with hot cocoa. I am going to look into that software, looks like you hit quite a few rides. I still find something new every time I go, which is too often!
I've been to california too many times recently and haven't made it to Disneyland. I need to remedy that some time in the next year. Glad you had so much fun!
Glad you had such a great trip this time, we love disneyland! Still can't believe you got mom on the tower of terror!
