January 23rd 2008 was a lovely day. The sun was shining with big fluffy clouds. The whole day was full of gifts and family, an extra special, feel good kind of day!
Handsome made me breakfast in bed (toasted bagel with eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice).
He even gave me the gift of sleep; he got up in the night with sick Sophie so I could get some rest. Boy did that feel good!
At lunch time I enjoyed a delightful meal with my marvelous in laws at CPK. They showered me with gifts:
Stationary (complete with atomizer from Reachel)
Homemade Garlic Butter spread (from Chef Kara)
Free all day Babysitting (from Elaine and Leisel)
After school the kids were extra nice and we played laundry charades for chores + fun. Then we took the whole family out to Olive Garden for dinner where Handsome and I split our favorite, the Mixed Grill (we discovered this while I was pregnant with Little Miss Sunshine and now we get it every time! Its kabobs of steak and chicken with pesto sauce and a side of rosemary pan fried potatoes and grilled veggies. Heavenly!)
On Friday we experienced cultural immersion by going to Gems, an Operatic review, with Reachel and Andrew. We spent a fantastic evening taking in some of the best arias and ensembles opera has to offer. Baritone Danny Ray Albert was our stand out favorite, but all the numbers were excellent. I can't wait to go back.
Saturday was the 50th anniversary of the Phoenix North Stake where we saw old friends and got to catch up (Mary Sue I tried and tried to find you to come and say hi in person instead of just online and I never found you! ) Then we partied out the evening in the Duncan's back yard with a little Casper Slide, part 2. It was definitely funky.
Sunday we got to have another Birthday Party at Nancy's house to celebrate both Mom and my's birthdays again! It was a yummy meal and a great evening. Courtney and her kids were there. That's a real treat since we see to little of her and her cutie pies! Those kids are too cute! Nancy made me the neatest Birthday gift of one of my favorite verses. I am so glad to get to put that up on the wall. Thanks Nancy!

I did catch a glimps of your beautiful self and then you disappeared!!! It was a fun and large gathering.
I'm glad you had a good birthday. We'll have to have another celebration when I come down, okay?
That's so great! So many fun things going on! And you looked darling at the opera, wherever did you get that outfit? smirk! So glad it worked out for ya! Darling, Darling!
Sounds like a great birthday, shared with lots of loved ones. What a fun idea to have a stake reunion.
Becky is the best opera date ever. Lovely ensemble, wealth of enthusiasm, engaging conversation. Richard is also a welcome addition with many insightful comments. Andrew...well he is really good looking, but he can stay home next time. Could you send me the visual evidence of our Opera excursion Becky?
