Running Together

Let me just say that there is so much energy pulsing at the start of a race!  Such excitement!  And I ran into many old and dear friends, so this was an added bonus.  The girls and I stuck together for the first half and then we went our own paces.  It was a thrill to see each of their smiles as they ran to the finish line right over home plate in Hohokam Stadium!  I had so much fun and it felt so darn good that I've decided to sign on for the 10K at London's Run in January. . . .anybody want to join me?
Come on, you know you want to!

Once again Miss Mindy put on an awesome show in Mesa Thursday night!  She likes to stand and sing at the intersection of Total Talent Road, Ca-ca-ca Cool Place and Adorable Lane.  Really, so adorable and so TALENTED.  And nice, too, as she thanked me and my daughters for sticking around after the 5K to help her out in her Whole Wide World Video.  Shooting for a video is fun.  It is also a whole lot of standing around waiting (yep, the rumors you've heard about that are true!)  But it was a great Saturday morning, as you can tell from the smiles on our faces. If you would like to see some awesome shots of her concert, go here.  My shots were quite lame in comparison--next time I'll remember my zoom lense--what was I thinking?

(Maddie and Savanna joined her with some other kids for a sing along at the end of the show--they're at the far right)

Do you remember when Nie's two little cherubs sang "Golden Slumbers"  two years ago at the Nie benefit concert?  It was so touching to hear them do that song again knowing their sweet mother was watching in the audience just a few rows ahead of us instead of in a coma fighting for her life. I cried and cried all the way through it (again).  This time it was the happy tears.  All 3 of them were in the video shoot, too, showing their support to Miss Mindy.
That's what I like to see--a little mother/daughter running action.

(Miss Talent's winged shoes during the video shoot.  Cool.)

Glad you girls were all able to run together and that you enjoyed the experience. Are y'all running again in the turkey trot on Thanksgiving Day? The song, Goldem Slumbers, holds memories for me too, they go way back to my own childhood and my mother.

That sounds like fun, I'm LOVING my CD you made me. Did she write all of her songs herself? I'm curious.
