Fall Break Fun: A TravelLog

I love going to visit Utah in the Fall.  The air is cooler, the leaves have turned to color.  The weather that week was perfect. Just perfect.  I was amazed at how beautiful it was.  We got to go see the Witches at Gardner Village which includeded the witch scavenger hunt, trying on witch hats, losing Sunshine's shoe in the lake, rescuing Sunshine's shoe in the lake, waiting in a long line at the Nahborhood Bakery for our cookie while Mr. Bingley decided that 2 hours was enough of sitting still in the stroller and now he wanted to push his stroller into innocent bystanders!  A real black cat wondered by and this was very spooky.

We also checked out Pirate Island and had a blast with our cute cousins.  Finding tickets in the garbage can was the highlight there!  That night we played at the park where Luna and Star Girl think they are invincible and can scale pine trees that scrape the sky.

Thursday was spent at Lagoon. I took my little camera instead of the big.  Mistake. Big Mistake.  I haven't even bothered to upload the pictures yet since they look so wimpy.  But we had so much fun.  I got me some fun relations.  I was feeling so darn spirited that when Jean informed me she would watch my kids so I could go through a spook alley with Heidi I said, "Oh, okay."  Duh.  DUH!  I should know better.  Me of all people should know I don't do scary.  And since the "medium-scary" one had a crazy long line we went to the "really-scary" one.  Um.  Really Scary = Really Disgusting.  I am not a fan of blood, body parts, or people chasing me with chain saws.  What was I thinking?  But what I really loved was watching my daughter fly through the air on the bunge sky flyer with her cousin in tandem, holding little ones hands while Frankenstein walked by and seeing the grin on The Baron's face after he mastered the Music Express.  That and going on Turn of the Century at night with the lights twinkling in the lake.

We had a lovely fall day in Heber enjoying my lovely sister in law who is always such a fine hostess.  And no one got sick.  That is no one got sick until late Friday night when Luna started throwing up at my sister in laws house.  Darn it.   At least she waited until after we'd gone to Lagoon!  After staying up with her until four in the morning with her stomach churning we decided to cut out stay a day short and headed home late Saturday afternoon and drove all the way to page.  There is something to be said for this late night driving approach as I felt the kids had mellowed out once the sun went down.  And if I hadn't promised my dad that I wouldn't go further than Page I may have been tempted to try and push all the way home.  Thankfully I became suddenly exhausted exactly 6 minutes north of Page and found us the last room at the TravelLodge after the Quality Inn turned us away! Got home safe and sound the next day where I learned from my friend that bedbug bites don't itch and you don't feel them.  So I don't know what it was in that hotel room making my skin itch.  Must have just been missing home.
