Pretend Dress Ups

Have you ever been shopping and tried on a really great outfit that you knew you likely shouldn't even try because then you would want to buy it but you knew it was just waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much money? Of course you have.

This happened to me last week. And I'm still thinking about this sweater and top and necklace here on a bright Wednesday morning. So I thought I'd blog about it, to, you know, get it out of my system.

Had occasion recently to visit Ms Reachel at Anthro for a little personal shopping party. She gave me a beautiful cupcake and brought me some divine clothing. I ran into my friends there; it was a true party. The idea was, bring something I already own

(these victorian inspired boots from Miz Mooz)

and she'll pair it up with the perfect companions for outfit bliss. (See how cute these boots are? My husband will start to like them, soon, I'm sure, instead of telling his beloved she needs to wear boots more Lady Di and less Jessica Simpson).

The following is what my fashion guru concocted:

(the actual skirt she brought me was reminiscent of this only with
3 short tiers of denim ruffles on the back and sides. Yes, even better, and on sale too.
I DID bring that skirt home with me to go with my boots)

You see how I can't get this out of my mind, huh? This outfit makes my boots look classy but still sassy. Instead of giving my husband's pay check to Anthropologie, though I will just pretend that I own this fetching ensemble. When I hit publish post, it will be just like I clicked on buy now. They will be hanging in my closet nicely when I go and check.

just go get it, that's the only way to get it out of your system! And so cute and springy, and love those boots, are they new too? I've never seen them before. They deserve a blog post themselves, where did you get them?

I noticed your cute skirt on Sunday with the boots--I thought it was cute. I guess you do not have a birthday or anniversary coming up that you could take advantage of... I might just go splurge anyway. If you are still thinking about them this far after then they would likely be a good investment.

I can see how you're still thinking about them! But the boots and skirt are lovely.
