The Sky was Beautiful this Afternoon.

I'm about to have a birthday.
36.
3 + 6 = 9.

That's how many miles I just got done running.

I may be getting older.
(Seems to happen every year).
But I'm still in the game, folks.
Still in the game*.

*If I can do this, you can do this. Yes, I mean you. Running is healthy for the heart, but it's really, really good for the soul, too. It sends a surge of good will through my veins and every time I go for a "long" run, I'm sure this would somehow help to solve the worlds ills, if everybody would just run several miles every week, there would be so much good will surging instead of insurgencies. And then we could all be friends and help each other in our time of need, right? If you are still reading this, then you are a true friend and I will consider it a birthday present from you to me. I will think of you on my next long run and send some more good will your way. See, it's positive cycle? Now, go for a run and you'll thank me later on your next birthday. I give you a play list to help you get started. Here goes. . .

The Long Haul Play List:
(I listen to them each twice, in a row. Weird, I know, but when you start pushing 40 you just do what works for you.)

Party in the USA, Miley Cirus
Beautiful Day, U2
The Distance, Cake
Strawberry Swing, Coldplay
See You Again, Miley Cirus
Viva la Vida, Coldplay
True or False, Bishop Allen
Still Have the Radio, Modest Mouse
Man! I Feel Like a Woman, Shania Twain
That Don't Impress Me Much, Shania Twain
Somebody told Me, The Killers
All These Things, The Killers
Shiver, Coldplay
Celebration, Kool & the Gang
Pride, U2
Short Skirt, Long Jacket, Cake
Gonna Fly Now (Rocky Theme Song), Bill Conti

Great tunes... I use some of these during my workouts as well. But I think I feel an iTunes splurge coming on :-).

Hope your day tomorrow is fabulous!! Maybe Rich will give you another day of doing things for/with you.

Happy, happy birthday to you, Becky! Hope it was a great day. You, amazing mama o' six, deserve lots of love on your day. 9 miles...that is awesome! Exercise really does something amazing for us, doesn't it. My knees don't allow me to run anymore, but my elliptical is a great friend. We're going to have to give the Killers a try...we're kind of slow catchin' up with new music, but I've heard good things about them.

so good to see you're still in shape when you're pushing 40! Holy cow, 9 miles, that is amazing. How about yous send me a mix CD and I'll send you one, okay? Then maybe I could run too, I'll start with one mile please, since I'm only thirty-1. And Happy Birthday lady, we missed you at Mom's party this weekend!
