Poetic Bingley

My baby likes it dark and cool in order to fall asleep and this gives me a moment to hold him tight, to tell time to knock it off and slow down already! And sometimes, when the moon is full, his soft skin tells me a sweet line or two. Here I am (oh, yes, it's a bit of a limb) writing lyrics for my infant son. But I would loose them if I kept them on paper. Digital posts are harder to misplace.

How can someone so new
feel like
always?

How can someone so young
seem like
forever?

How can someone so small
(such fingers! toes!)
enlarge my mind, my heart, my world

Did the spark
twinkling in your eyes
travel through space and time
from years of light away

to land
steady
in the arms of now?

In moments brief
when time stands still
a door cracks
a flicker
a flash

And ancient in your youth,
I see you've always been with me.

I said they were lyrics, but I don't write music; if I could these would be hummed along to something like Taylor Swift's "Crazier" as that is the mood of wonder (and spin) they're meant to give
