Otherwise Entitled, "Happy Mother's Day to Me"
If you have ever entertained the idea of stopping by my home for an unexpected visit, now would be the perfect time*. I would be delighted to see you and welcome you in without the slightest hesitation. For what feels like the first time in my life, and certainly the first time since Mr. Bingley was born, my entire house is clean. If you were to peek around the corners into the childrens' rooms, I would not blush. If you need to use the lady's room, there's no need for me to worn or apologize. Need something from the laundry room? You can enter without shame. We could just sit on the couch and have an old fashioned chat right here in the front room. The carpet is freshly vacuumed and my pineapple cilantro candle scent still lingers in the air. I can offer you some homemade focaccia bread ; or, if your tastebuds are craving dessert, there’s also a batch of Lyndsi’s Scotcharoos in the fridge. All this, and just in time for Mother's Day!

(After our nice chat, my DH and I will have to pack up the kids and go sleep in a hotel. Keeping a house clean and taking care of 6 kids are simultaneously impossible.)
*We had our house appraised for refinancing this afternoon.
