I was out and about doing some Christmas shopping with my oldest daughter this morning. (It reminded me of how car time one on one with your child is to be cherished! Some of the best conversations I've ever had with my mom were when we were driving to and from stores, just the two of us). I got to glimpse into her thoughts as she talked about whatever was on her mind. . . what gifts she'd like to give, how she misses her Utah cousins, & how "they really should make a roller coaster style ride that showcases the community 'and here we have our elementary school', whooooaaaaaaaa!!!!! That'd be awesome!"
As we pulled onto our street approaching home the conversation turned suddenly political.
Luna: One of our relatives should become President of the United States! Then we could go to the White House for the Holidays!
Me: So who do you think would make the best President of all your relatives?
Luna: (no hesitations) Uncle Austin.
You should consider running, Austin. You've already got one future voter ready to cast in your favor!

I was just thinking the other day it would be pretty cool to be the first lady. She get's spend all her time doing humanitarian stuff. Doesn't that sound nice?
count me in, "votes for Austin!" to be said like the mom in Mary Poppins and in that kind of regalia.
