Hello, dear reader! In the spirit of "New Year, New You" I have started my only little blog spot. Yes, it's "New Year, New Blog" over here at the Bagley Household (as with many others across the globe, I'm sure). I hope this little blog to be
a. a record of the going-ons and happenings of my dear little family
b. a dialog between friends, old and new
and
c. a voice to reaffirm there is still goodness out there in the world and on the internet.

Since wisdom dictates look back before you look forward let's reflect on some favorite recent Christmas memories. Hoorah for Christmas!! It is truely the most wonderful time of the year.

I had so much fun decorating for Christmas this year. I love refurbishing my old decorations (hand me downs from my mother, extra special since I grew up with many of them). Savanna asked me why I made one little wreath say "come" and it was because I already had the letters to spell that! "Come" is a great verb. It helps me think of "Come Unto Jesus, Come Let us Adore Him, Come Let us Anew" all sorts of things. Some people might think that Christmas is too much about the external and not enough "true meaning", but, really, I find that decorating helps me remember the reason for the season, especially the twinkling lights on the tree. We gather our little family together for prayer by the tree each evening and sing Christmas carols with all the lights off except for the glow of the tree (the kids like to light a single candle as well. . .that's always fun with my one year old attacking the flame!) Richard's favorite seems to be Silent Night. I favor Angels we Have Heard on High. But even when it's getting late and past bedtime, there's always time for Christmas Carols in December!
A favorite Christmas memory this year was family movie night: Elf. I'd never seen it. Surprisingly, it was hysterical. I could start laughing right now thinking of Will Farrell going ballistic on the fake Santa Clause sitting on his throne of lies. I don't know who laughed more, me or the kids. And that's getting rarer in my advancing years!! We may make family Elf night a new tradition.

That's what were looking back on at our house! Here's to looking forward with much hope for a full year in 2008! New Years Resolutions post coming soon :)

We enjoyed very much reading your comments and seeing your Christmas decorations. Loved your silhouettes too! Hope you keep posting on the family blog too. Nancy has tried to show me how to post pictures, but the tutorial hasn't taken very well.
I welcome a blog header. Photoshop goes on sale soon at Costco. Hoorah!
